Art and Artists FAQ

I am an educator, SRHR, gender equality non-profit organisation, or pleasure activist – can I use these artworks in my work?

Yes! And that is exactly what The Pleasure Bank is for. We want you to use these images to support your work and to normalise the diverse spectrum of sexual pleasure and to solidify its place as an important aspect of health and well-being. When you are using the images from The Pleasure Bank, just remember that you must comply with the terms and conditions explained in “Use of Artworks”. When using and sharing these images, you absolutely must credit the creator(s). It is not allowed to edit the images, they must be used in the original format.

Can I print out artworks that I downloaded from The Pleasure Bank?

Yes. This is allowed as long as you don’t sell on the artwork or use it for commercial purposes.

Are the artists paid?

Some of the artworks on The Pleasure Bank have been commissioned and paid for either by Share-Net International or by other NGOs who have commissioned artworks for other projects and now have gifted them to The Pleasure Bank. Some of the other artworks on The Pleasure Bank have been gifted by creatives to the project and have not been paid for. It is our hope that we can work with partners to pay for more commissioned artworks to be featured on The Pleasure Bank in the future. For all creatives who have gifted works to The Pleasure Bank, we have included links to their websites, etsy stores and patreons (where relevant), or other relevant links, so that users can support the artists through these avenues. We will continue to work on The Pleasure Bank to improve it and develop it into a space where creatives’ work, time, and integrity are respected and compensated.

How do I as an artist, benefit from submitting my work to The Pleasure Bank?

While we recognise ‘exposure’ is not a great incentive, we hope your presence in our gallery does help you gain a new audience and following of sexuality educators and pleasure pioneers. TPB further commits to promoting all our artists work via our social media channels, events, and dedicated mail-outs to our audience.
